A Portal couple carrying “pounds of high grade marijuana” were arrested after a traffic stop due to the driver not wearing a seat beltBulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said Marcia Gray, 37, Claudia Street, Portal, and Osborne Williams, 40, Pleasant Hill Road, Portal, were traveling in Portal when Cpl. Mark Guarino and Senior Deputy Randall Norman, with the Statesboro-Bulloch County Crime Suppression Team, stopped them because Williams wore no seat belt.Both suspects were “out on felony bonds connected with arrests made in the Portal area a short time ago for drug sales,” Anderson said.Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found “several pounds of high grade marijuana and a quantity of cocaine.” Williams was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, charged with seat belt violation, possession of a drug related object, cocaine possession and marijuana possession with intent to distribute.Gray was also taken to jail, charged with possession of drug related objects, cocaine possession and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. “Neither will be granted a new bond,” he said.
