An undercover operation conducted by the Statesboro Police Department Crime Suppression Unit netted two Florida women police said were soliciting sex.
Michelle J. Montgomery, 28, Pebble Creek Lane, Orlando, Fla., and Tennille Rae Weber, 32, Kings Ridge Loop, Davenport, Fla. were arrested on prostitution and drug charges, according to reports.
During the undercover exercise targeting prostitution in the area, a woman approached an undercover Crime Suppression Unit officer on South Walnut Street, said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.
During a conversation with the undercover officer, the woman “offered sexual services in return for money,” he said.
The woman then told the officer “ she had a female friend at the motel that would do the same,” he said.
After placing the woman under arrest for prostitution, the undercover officer went to the Trellis Garden Inn, where he “made contact with the second female,” York said.
After a brief conversation that woman was arrested as well, and a search of the motel room revealed “a small amount of cocaine and drug related objects,” he said.
The women were taken to the Statesboro Police Department for processing, then taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they remained without bond Friday, according to jail records.
