An inebriated robbery victim who had just spent his last bit of money on food lost his supper Sunday afternoon when suspects took the meal in lieu of cash.
The 21-year-old victim was "quite intoxicated" around 3:15 p.m. Sunday and was walking between Statesboro Place Circle and Robin Hood Trail when he was stopped by four unknown suspects in a silver four-door sedan, said Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.
The victim had just spent $8 on a burrito and Powerade, according to the police report, when he was accosted by the four.
They pulled up and "said they were his Uber drivers, and asked him how much money he had," she said. "When he said he had none, they asked what was in the bag."
The inebriated victim told them, and the suspects took the food and left, she said.
The incident was listed as "robbery by intimidation." Warren said the victim was not injured, and the suspects did not show a weapon.
