The Statesboro Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store that occurred Friday morning, according to a release issued by police.Officers are searching for an unknown black man who entered Discount Beverage and Tobacco on Northside Drive East and, while wielding a handgun, demanded money from a store employee about 8:45 a.m. The offender escaped on foot behind the store with an undisclosed amount of money, the release said. According to Major Scott Brunson, no one was injured and the incident is currently under investigation by the Operations Bureau of the Statesboro Police Department.
