A possible drug deal gone bad left a man a couple hundred bucks poorer, but no one was injured in the armed robbery, law enforcement officials said.

            Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputy Robert G. Hemminger responded Wednesday to a Southbend Drive location, where he spoke with a victim and a witness to a reported armed robbery.

            The victim claimed  he "was lured to a car, and while he was looking at whatever lured him, someone pulled a gun and threatened to kill him," said Bulloch County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Gene McDaniel.

            Then they took his wallet containing about $200, he said.

            But a witness told investigators the victim approached the car occupied by three men in order to buy marijuana, he said.

            The victim "waited about an hour and a half after the robbery to contact us," McDaniel said.

            Bulloch County Sheriff's incident reports state the robbery took place around 3:30 p.m., and incident reports were completed around 5:45 p.m.

            McDaniel said investigators tried locating the vehicle with the three suspected offenders, but in the meantime, the victim fled the area.

            "The victim left town," he said. "We can't contact him." The victim has not cooperated with efforts to obtain additional information, he said.

            Since no one was injured and  the victim apparently does not wish to  pursue the matter, the case has been closed, McDaniel said.
