A man complained that his boss refused to pay him for a week’s work, but the other man said he paid for the complainant’s bus ticket to Florida in lieu of wages.

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ PIONEER TRAIL — A woman reported a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox stolen.

▲ WISE NURSERY — A man complained that his boss refused to pay him for a week’s work, but the other man said he paid for the complainant’s bus ticket to Florida in lieu of wages.

▲ COWBOY WAY — A man told deputies another man touched his juvenile granddaughter in an aggressive way and threatened her, but deputies stated the juvenile was the aggressor.

▲ TROY STREET — A man reported being scammed by a company promising to pay him to drive his vehicle with their logo on it. They sent him a check for $1,200 and told him to keep $200 and send the rest to a Joshua Union of Louisiana. The man ended up being short $1,200 in his bank account.

▲ ADEN LANIER ROAD — A man reported collectible baseball cards and other items missing after his home was burglarized.

▲ M.P. MARTIN ROAD — A woman said her son argued with a former friend, who threatened to “break into her home and steal everything she owned.” The offender was served a criminal trespass notice for the complainant’s home.

▲ POPLAR SPRINGS CHURCH ROAD — A woman reported the theft of several items from her home since February.


➤ Statesboro Police Department 

▲ TERRELL STREET — A man reported TVs, gaming systems and other items missing after a burglary.

▲ EAST CHERRY STREET — A woman reported the theft of a gold 2013 Kia.

▲ PACKINGHOUSE ROAD — Police responded to a reported fight and unruly juvenile.

Police were called out to another reported fight as well, but parties involved declined to file reports.

▲ EAST JONES AVENUE — A man reported someone shot his car overnight.

▲ BELK — Two offenders were cited and released after trying to shoplift $267 worth of clothing. They were also served with criminal trespass warnings.

▲ EAST GEORGIA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER — A woman being treated told police she was a victim of battery. She was given information to seek warrants.

▲ PINEWOOD MANOR/JOHNSON STREET — A man said another man threatened him with bodily harm.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers responded to 22 crashes with 18 reported injuries and one fatality. 

▲ Troopers also arrested six drivers on DUI charges and issued five citations and four warnings for seatbelt violations, one warning for child restraint violations, and 14 citations and 28 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Officers issued one traffic citation and no traffic warnings and assisted nine motorists.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING — Someone reported property damage.

In a separate call, officers responded to a domestic dispute.
