➤ Candler County Sheriff’s Office

▲ John Thomas Morris, 61, Metter — revoked license, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, seat belt violation, open container.

▲ Martin Lee Neal. 27, Swainsboro — DUI/less safe, open container, seat belt violation, terroristic threats, violation of basic rules of safety.

▲ Bobby Eugene Hall, 27, Apopka, Fla. — possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine.

▲ Oscar Mauricio, 21, Metter — DUI, failure to notify owner upon striking fixed object, open container.

▲ Jonathan Paul Carter, 40, Metter — felony probation violation.

➤ Candler County Sheriff’s Department

▲ GREENHOUSE ROAD — Deputies responded to a reported battery.

▲ HIGHWAY 121 — Someone reported a stolen vehicle.

▲ ROSEMARY CHURCH/SANDRIDGE ROAD — Deputies responded to a call about terroristic threats.

▲ PULASKI HIGHWAY — A business reported a shoplifter.

▲ PADDY FORD ROAD — Someone reported an incident involving terroristic threats.

▲ PRIMROSE ROAD — Deputies investigated a simple battery incident.


Register Police Department

▲ Last week, Register police issued nine citations and a warning for speeding, one citation for expired tag, one citation for suspended tag, one citation for wearing a device that interfered with hearing/vision, a warning for failure to stop at a railroad crossing, two citations for no tag, one window tint warning, two citations for stop sign violations, a tag light warning, a tag/registration warning and a warning for no insurance.


➤ Metter Police Department

▲ SOUTH REGISTRAR STREET —Someone reported a theft.

▲ EAST LILLIAN STREET/SIMMONS STREET — A call about a suspicious vehicle resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on outstanding warrants in Columbia and Richmond Counties. He was taken to the Charlie Homer Bell III Detention Center.

▲ HIGHWAY 46/GREEN STREET (Pulaski) — Officers assisted Candler County Sheriff’s deputies with a suspicious vehicle that crashed into a ditch.

▲ NORTH TRAPNELL/SOUTH LEROY STREETS — Someone reported a motor vehicle theft.

▲ FRED’S — Officers responded to a reported fight.

▲ LINCOLN STREET — Someone called police in reference to a domestic dispute.

▲ AMIT STORE — Someone complained of harassment and called police.

▲ RONNIE STREET — Someone reported a theft.

▲ NORTHEAST BROAD STREET — A 17-year-old male was arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

▲ WEST BROAD STREET — Officers responded to an “unwanted person” call.

▲ HODGES STREET — A person was arrested on two warrants for simple battery charges.

▲ JET STORE — A man who was jailed after violating a criminal trespass order 30 minutes after it was served violated the order a third time after being released from jail, going to the store yet again.  He was once again arrested.


➤ Bulloch County Animal Shelter

▲ Surrendered by citizens — seven adult dogs and five adult cats from rural areas; one dog adult dog, one adult cat and seven kittens from city of Statesboro.

▲ Collected by humane officers — 11 adult dogs, five puppies; and one adult cat from rural areas;   four adult cats and a kitten from City of Statesboro.

▲ Adopted from shelter- three dogs and two cats.

▲ Taken in by rescue organizations — five adult dogs, three puppies and no cats or kittens.

▲ Reclaimed by owners — an adult dog and four puppies.

▲ Died at shelter — no animals.

▲ Euthanized — no dogs and nine cats and kittens (feral/upper respiratory infection).

▲ Fees collected — $221.

▲ Animals in shelter — 70 dogs and 74 cats.
