Statesboro Police arrested a juvenile Friday they said was responsible for a series of entering auto incidents. Chief Stan York said detectives, following up on information that the South College Street teen could be involved, searched the suspect’s home. Statesboro Police detectives Keith Holloway, Ken Scott and Ben Purvis discovered “numerous electronics devices, including Ipods, cell phones and digital cameras,” he said.
Further investigation revealed may of the items recovered had been stolen during recent vehicle break-ins, York said. “The juvenile was arrested and us currently being held at the Claxton Regional Youth Detention Center pending further court action.”
Anyone with information about recent burglaries, automobile break-ins or other crimes is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (912) 764-1542. “Information that is provided will be held in strictest confidence,” York said.
