'Operation Street Hustler' nets more arrests

Police arrested four more suspects Thursday as they continued "Operation Street Hustler," an investigation targeting street-level drug dealers that began last summer.

Officers arrested 33 Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday's arrests brought the total to 37; there were 57 warrants issued, said Statesboro Police Capt. Scott Brunson.

During the sweep, which included raids at D.C. Customs on Davis Street and at a home of Gentilly Road, officers seized crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, and Ecstasy. In addition to the drugs, an undisclosed amount of cash and two vehicles were seized, he said.

Arrested Thursday were Corey Hayton, 38, East Olliff Street - sale of cocaine; Tiiyana James, 31, Morris Street - sale of cocaine, sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park, and unlawful use of communications facilities; Santana Lundy Gadson, 26, Pamela Way - three counts of sale of marijuana, two counts of sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park, sale of cocaine, probation violation and unlawful use of communication facilities.

Also arrested was Chauntcey Scott - sale of marijuana, probation violation and sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park.

All four were taken to the Bulloch County Jail where they await further court proceedings, according to reports.

Further arrests will be reported as officers take other suspects in the operation into custody.
