Georgia Southern University Theater Majors Rebekah Wesley plays the characters of Gabriella in the Averitt Center for the Arts production of "High School Musical 2."
The cast of "High School Musical 2" rehearses Monday at the Emma Kelly Theater. The wildly popular Disney show is performed by an all local cast of Statesboro residents. The play is directed by Tony Phillips, Sherri Thompson and Lisa Muldrew. Also, after acting in many local productions, Statesboro accountant Russ Lanier went behind the scenes for the first time and is producing the show. The musical premieres Friday at 7 p.m. in the Emma Kelly Theater. Performances are also scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $17 in advance and $18.50 the day of the show.
