A woman who discovered her estranged husband was entertaining a female guest Sunday night became so angry, she went on a wild ride in his lady friend’s car.
Bulloch County Sheriff’s Sgt. James D. Billings responded Sunday evening to a Banks Creek Church Road home, where he spoke to Kimberly Bennett Jackson, 38, Blue Ridge Drive, Statesboro. Jackson said she arrived at her estranged husband’s Banks Creek Church home around 10:15 p.m. to “get some money for groceries for their children,” he stated in a report.
But when Jackson discovered another woman was in the home, she became angry. She “started banging on the door,” according to statements her husband and his friend made to Billings, but they did not respond.
Then Jackson went to the other woman’s Lexus, got inside, and drove it around, Billings said. She also took the other woman’s purse and phone from the car.
When Billings arrived at the scene, Jackson admitted getting into the other woman’s car and driving it. When Billings asked for her driver’s license, she explained that the purse she had was not hers, but the other woman’s.
Upon her admission, Billings charged Jackson with criminal trespass, recovered the other woman’s property and returned it. Then, he took Jackson to the Bulloch County Jail, where she later posted bond, according to jail records.
