Dr. Michael Guido, world-renowned evangelist whose ministry is based in Metter, was readmitted Thursday around noon to Candler County Hospital.
Guido, 93, known for his “Seeds from the Sower” inspirationals, was hospitalized last month for exhaustion, pneumonia and other illnesses, but recovered to the point he was able to come home, according to information from his staff at Guido Gardens in Metter.
But Guido took a turn for  the worse earlier this week and returned to the hospital Thursday “for treatment of the lingering pneumonia which he has not been able to completely recover from since his last hospital stay,” according to an e-mail sent by Guido Gardens staff to many of Guido’s friends and acquaintances.
“He is also in the early stages of renal failure, and is very weak and disoriented,” the e-mail read.”While in the hospital he will undergo a CAT scan to determine if he has had any type of stroke.”
Guido’s family and staff ask citizens to remember Guido in prayer. Updates will be made available also on Internet web site  www.GuidoGardens.com.
Guido’s health experienced a downturn in early January after he overexerted himself during the annual Christmas Lights display held during December at Guido Gardens, staff members said.
