Metter police have identified one of two men suspected in a recent home invasion attempt and hope the public will assist in locating him.

Bobby Lamar Faircloth Jr., 23, address unavailable, was involved in an aggravated assault and attempted kidnapping July 30 at a home in the 200 block of South Rountree Street in Metter, Metter Police Chief Dennis Nelson said.

Faircloth was with a male accomplice who has not yet been identified, he said.

Faircloth is a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 160 pounds, with a muscular build and tattoos on his arms, Nelson said.

The second unidentified suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160-180 pounds and clean-shaven who was wearing a "boonie"-style hat. He was armed with a handgun during the home invasion, Nelson said.

"The Metter Police Department has active arrest warrants on Mr. Faircloth at this time and we are seeking the public's help in locating him as quickly as possible," he said. "We are still pursuing leads at this moment and we feel certain that we will have him in custody very soon."

Anyone with information on Faircloth's location is asked to contact law enforcement immediately. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Investigator Tim Platt at (912) 685-5437 or tim.platt@metterpd.com. Anonymous tips also can be submitted to tips@metterpd.com or on the department's website at www.metterpd.com.
