The bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a Brooklet home late Sunday morning, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
At 11:53 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of River Retreat Road after two deceased persons were discovered inside, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Sunday afternoon.
Multiple investigators and a crime scene technician also responded.
At this time the names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Anderson said.
The bodies will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Coastal Regional Crime Lab for autopsy on Monday. Further details will be released after the autopsy and after further interviews are completed.
At this point, the sheriff said, there appears to be no further danger to public safety and no suspects at large.
