A St. Paul, Minnesota man was killed early Wednesday in a single vehicle crash in Candler County. A passenger from Twin City was seriously injured in the accident, according to reports.
The investigation into the death of Meng Vang, 36, is ongoing, but preliminary reports state he was driving on Griffin Ferry Road 12 miles west of Metter around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when his vehicle left the roadway and traveled along the east shoulder for about 357 feet. Georgia State Patrol Senior Trooper T. S. Sisson reported Vang's vehicle then rotated counterclockwise, struck a culvert, overturned twice and came to rest on its wheels.
Vang was killed in the crash. Mao Chuon, 36, Griffin Ferry Road, Twin City, suffered serious injuries in the accident, Sisson said. Blood tests are pending.
