Police do not yet know whether the death of a man whose body was found in a Statesboro pond Sunday involves foul play. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday on the body of Dalen Johnnathaniel Smith, which was found shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday in a pond behind Southern Downs Apartments on Chandler Road. "Officers of the Statesboro Police Department responded to the scene in reference to a possible deceased person in the water," said Statesboro police Maj. Rob Bryan, interim police chief.
