A Statesboro man was arrested after victims of a vehicle break-in saw him with a pink backpack belonging to their mother, police said. At 1 a.m. Sunday, the victims saw a man, later identified as Chao Wu, 24, of Chandler Road, walking away from one of their vehicles while wearing the backpack, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said in a news release issued Monday. They watched Wu enter an apartment at Willow Bend Apartments with the backpack, then leave without the backpack, Turner said.
