A man who refused medical treatment after a reported fight early Wednesday morning was arrested minutes later after reportedly attacking four others with a knife.

Statesboro police officers responded around 12:18 a.m. Wednesday to Stadium Club Apartments on Lanier Drive,  where they met with Leroy Mozee, 38, who said he had been involved in a fight with another in the apartment complex parking lot, said Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.

The other person involved in the fight was gone when police arrived, but Mozee suffered multiple visible injuries, including facial cuts and a split lip. Appearing intoxicated, Mozee was uncooperative with police and refused medical treatment, she said.

As officers prepared to leave the scene, “they heard screaming come from the apartment (where Mozee lived), Warren said. Returning to the residence, officers saw several people running from the apartment.

The four victims said Mozee had attacked them with a knife when police left, she said.

Mozee was taken into custody charged with four counts of aggravated assault. He was transported to the Bulloch County Jail where he awaits further court hearings.
