Another school year has begun in Statesboro. Georgia Southern students have moved in, and students, educators and parents are planning for both virtual and in-person classes. As you settle into your routine, your friends at Orchid Asian Restaurant would like to wish all of the students, teachers, and parents a safe and happy semester. 

Although classes may look a little different this year from what we are accustomed to, Orchid owner, Lan Doan, said she is confident that students will all “persevere through these unprecedented times to achieve their goals.” Since opening Orchid, Doan has employed high school and college students as servers and kitchen staff. With children of her own, she understands how unique this school year promises to be. But she is, as ever, full of faith in our community to remain strong and diligent. 

Each year, Orchid sees several of their employees graduate from area schools including Statesboro High, Georgia Southern, and Ogeechee Technical College. She thinks of her staff as part of the Orchid family, and together they celebrate these milestones with their customers and the community. This connection within the restaurant and with Statesboro has helped the restaurant through the last several months which have been so challenging for locally owned businesses. The Orchid owner and staff are incredibly grateful for the patronage of friends and regular customers, and they look forward to the privilege of serving the community in the coming school year.
