Advanced voting for the Nov. 8 general election opened Monday morning, and 1,217 Bulloch County residents had voted at the County Annex by 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

That puts interest so far on pace with the November 2012 presidential election, when 10,917 Bulloch voters took advantage of in-person early voting opportunities. That year, 1,989 voters came in during the first week of early voting, said Bulloch County Election Supervisor Patricia Lanier Jones.

So, only 772 more voters by 5 p.m. Friday would tie 2012’s first-week record.

The County Annex, at 113 N. Main Street, will be open for voting 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 17 to Nov. 4.

Next week, three early voting days will also be offered on the Georgia Southern University campus, for students, university employees and any other registered Bulloch County voters who choose to vote there. The location is inside the Russell Union, and the hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 25-27.

Another location, the Honey Bowen Building, on Max Lockwood Drive at Fair Road Park, will be open for early voting Oct. 31 until Nov. 4, again, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Saturday voting hours will be Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at both the Bulloch County Annex and the Honey Bowen Building.

Voters need to bring their driving license or other valid, government-issued photo ID.
