Editor: On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to congratulate past State Bar President James B. “Jimmy“ Franklin of Franklin, Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes & Marsh in Statesboro on his recent election as president of the Georgia Bar Foundation. All Georgians will benefit from Mr. Franklin’s leadership of the foundation, which exists to support legal services for the poor, improve the administration of justice, promote professionalism in the practice of law, aid children who are involved in the justice system and to advance the legal system through historical study. The foundation is authorized by the Supreme Court of Georgia to receive Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Account (IOLTA) proceeds to fund these activities at the local level.
