Editor: This note relates to reports and pictures about Confederate symbols at the courthouse. I cannot imagine that any relative of mine who wore a uniform of the Confederacy would choose to have a symbol of the Confederacy remain on courthouse grounds against the wishes of a majority of county citizens. Such matters should depend on numbers of votes instead of on intensity of emotions.
