A thank you for prayers for Pat Harvey Duke

This is a special THANK YOU to Bulloch County for actions of our citizens and the thousands of prayers given for Pat Harvey Duke. They have produced a true Miracle. On Monday, March 25, about 10 a.m., without any warning, Pat suffered a massive brain aneurysm, rendering her nearly lifeless and paralyzed.
Pat is one of Bulloch's own, essentially a lifelong resident. A longtime member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, she is a retired middle school teacher of both Portal and Southeast Bulloch. Besides being President of the PTA, Pat has been for many years President of ACTS, a Community Churchwide Charity Service. She was honored with the Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Award.
On that day, Thank God, I discovered Pat immediately. Crying a prayer, I dialed 911, and a wonderful operator helped me care for Pat until EMS arrived. EMS had no sooner boarded Pat than she stopped breathing. Their efforts got Pat alive to East Georgia Regional Medical Center's emergency room. There they stabilized Pat and the doctor quickly suggested immediate airlift to Georgia Regents Medical Center's Level 1 Neuro Trauma in Augusta. Statesboro Air Evac got Pat safely to the GRMC rooftop just after noon that Monday.
GRMC assessed Pat as worst case. She would need a six-hour brain surgery and if she survived, she would face 30 days in ICU battling deadly complications.
The prayers went up from hundreds while the professionals worked, and the Lord Provided. Pat awoke from the coma Wednesday at dawn, survived numerous setbacks, and two more brain surgeries. Yet, she was released after 40 days and 40 nights in GRMC. She then spent 3 weeks in a Rehab Hospital and on Memorial Day Weekend, came home. Today, 122 days from March 25, Pat is almost fully recovered.
We thank ALL of you. The Power of Prayer and the Miracle for Pat has renewed our hope for our nation and world through prayer. May God Bless America, and you, each and everyone.
       All the Best,
Derek L. Duke
