Legendary Second City comedy troupe to visit Statesboro

Chicago's legendary sketch and improvisational troupe will bring its zany brand of comedy to the Emma Kelly Theater on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

"The Second City Hits Home" is a new show featuring hilarious sketches, songs and improvisation about Statesboro as well as material from the famed Second City archives.

Celebrating 54 years of cutting-edge satire, Chicago's Second City Comedy Club is the birthplace of "Saturday Night Live" and the former stomping ground of some of North America's finest comedians and actors, including Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Gilda Radner and Bill Murray.

Call the Averitt Center box office at (912) 212-2787 to reserve your seat. Tickets are $23 for Averitt Center members and $25 for nonmembers. The box office is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. You can also purchase tickets online at www.AverittCenterForTheArts.org.
