A lane on westbound Northside Drive West will be closed this week, starting today, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced in a news release this morning.

One westbound lane of Northside Drive, also known as U.S. Highway 80, will be closed between North Main and North College streets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday this week. A lane shift will move traffic to the left and center turn lanes. Eastbound traffic will not be affected.

This will allow work crews to repair a damaged sanitary sewer line. The DOT urges motorists to reduce their speed in the work zone and exercise extreme caution.
