Katie Harris appointed to state Jaycees committee

Katie Harris, business manager at Statesboro STEAM Academy, has been elected to the Georgia Jaycees’ state executive committee, where she will serve as Vice President of Community Develop-ment. 

Harris received the Charter School Financial Management Certificate from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. She continues to give back to her community serving as an officer of the Statesboro Jaycees, past chair of the Statesboro Jaycees Relay for Life team and a member of the Downtown Dog Park committee. For all of her hard work, Harris was recognized with the Statesboro Herald’s designation as a “20 Under 40” in 2018.

In her new role, Harris will be responsible for the Georgia Jaycees’ “community advancement.” She will identify needs within the community that the state can effect, and determines the best way to fulfill those needs. She will also be working with the individual chapters to encourage communication and participation throughout the state.
