Internet outage

Northland Cable customers who found they could not surf the Internet Tuesday can blame the beavers.
After all, it was they who built the dams in the creek between Gentilly Road and Veteran's Memorial Parkway, forcing city workers to use a back hoe to destroy the rodents' homes.
And in doing so, someone inadvertently sliced into a buried fiber cable, said Rick Hutchison, Northland Cable TV's regional manager.
The server malfunctioned regarding service to the Statesboro area due to the Frontier Communications cable that had been cut. "It was an accident," he said.
It took service workers a while to locate the problem, and then they worked until 3:30 a.m. Wednesday to repair the fiber cable, he said. "Basically, when it was cut, it took us off the map."
Another outage Monday from 10 to 11:30 p.m. was due to an Atlanta-area server, CNR, being out of service, Hutchison said.
The Internet functioned in some areas, but users were not able to "surf" using the CNR server, he said.
