Inside Bulloch Business with DeWayne Grice: Beacon Place project targeting upscale living
W SitePlan-Statesboro-1

Developers Bill Tripp, Jackson Wallace and Greg Wood are building their newest project, Beacon Place, located at 1818 S & S Railroad Bed Road adjacent to the S & S Trail near Connection Church.

The trio entered the Statesboro market a couple of years ago when they built the Hamptons on Highway 301 South, a signature student housing development. After one year of operating the Hamptons, which includes 237 units and 668 beds, they are entering the new school year 98 percent leased.

"When we built the Hamptons, we included some one bedroom apartments in the design," Wallace said. "We were stunned at how quickly those rented and the demand that it created. The interest was from a wide range of people, not just students. This pushed us to research the need for upscale professional housing in the market and from this we discovered that our instincts were correct. There is definitely demand for the Beacon Place project.

"Before we had completed the Hamptons, we started looking for another suitable site to build our next development. The site we are developing is centrally located in close proximity to the hospital, university and downtown. t is adjacent to the popular S & S trail which allows us to create a perfect environment for professional and retired residents alike."

Beacon Place is a 176-unit single story development. Each of the one and two bedroom units include an attached and enclosed garage, green space and luxury amenities.

"Professionals and retirees want a neighborhood that includes all of the amenities that college housing includes, minus the students," Wood said. "With Beacon Place, we have created this. All of the units are single story, well built and finished out with upscale interiors like stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, walk in closets and a washer and dryer in every unit. The 4,000-square-foot club house will include state of the art fitness equipment, yoga and aerobic center, resident café with Wifi, a business services suite, a gathering space for social events and meeting space. The saltwater pool will include cabanas, an outdoor grilling area and fireplace."

Beacon Place units are designed to give residents three options of living:

• The Arlington is a 719-square-foot, one bed, one bath unit with a 278-square-foot enclosed garage.

• The Benjamin is a 910-square-foot one bed, one bath unit with a study and 305-square-foot enclosed garage.

• The Oliver is a 959-square-foot two bedroom, two bath unit with a 302-square-foot enclosed garage.

Monthly rents range from $785 to $1,095.

The development is pet friendly and even includes a pet wash station. They will also house a green recycling center inside the development. This is truly a unique development for our community.
