Huling joins Citizens Bank of the Souths lending team

              Kevin A. Harrison, Bulloch County president and corporate executive vice president of Citizens Bank of the South announced recently the hiring of Matthew S. Huling as assistant vice president and loan officer.
        Huling, also known as "P.K." among his Statesboro friends and customers, began his banking career in Bulloch County. He returns home after serving as assistant vice president and loan officer with Claxton Bank.
        Huling brings a wide range of experience to the job, including consumer and commercial lending, not limited to SBA and construction.
        He also is knowledgeable and proficient in the areas of operations, security, branch management, risk management and technology.
        Huling has unique local and regional experience in special assets and real estate.
        He is a graduate of the Community Bankers Association's Commercial and Consumer Banking Schools and is in his second year as a participant of the Georgia Bankers Association's Banking School. Citizens Bank mortgage lender, Jonathan Young also attends the banking school.
        "Our customer relationships paired with the potential for healthy growth necessitate the need for someone with Matt's skills and expertise," Harrison said. "I know he will be a valuable resource and motivated lender. He's been a part of this market for as long as Citizens Bank has been here."
        Huling earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Georgia Southern in 2008.
        He is a member of the Statesboro Jaycees. He is married to the former Heather Arthurs and they have one daughter, Emily.
