Three victims of an armed robbery early Thursday morning helped apprehend the offender, said Georgia Southern University spokesman Paul Floeckher.
Someone called 911 while all three victims chased Jermaine Quintez Scott, 19, Halcyondale Road, Sylvania, he said. When Georgia Southern University Police officers arrived on the scene, they joined in when they saw the three men chasing Scott.
Officers received the call about an armed robbery in progress around 1 a.m. Thursday and responded to Chandler Road near Centennial Place.
"Officers arrived, saw the suspect being chased by the three men and apprehended the suspect," Floeckher said.
The witnesses, three GSU students, told police they were walking through GSU's J-Lot when Scott approached them, pulled a gun and robbed them of a small amount of cash.
After taking Scott into custody, Officers found the gun lying approximately 25 feet from the suspect," he said. "Officers searched ... Scott, and found the cash he had taken."
Scott was taken to the Bulloch County Jail after being charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm while committing a crime, possession of a weapon in a school safety zone and obstruction of an officer.
He is being held without bond, according to jail records.
The incident is being investigated by the Georgia Southern University Public Safety Criminal Investigations Department, Floeckher said.
