Dr. Joseph Olson to be featured in exhibition in Savannah

    Dr. Joseph Olson will be featured in a solo exhibition of his work at the Jewish Educational Alliance (JEA) Nov. 4th in Savannah with a reception from 2 until 4 p.m. The exhibit will be on display until Nov. 30.
    Dr. Olson is professor emeritus of art at Georgia Southern University. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Tyler School of Art, Temple University and the Ed.D. from the University of Georgia.
    Olson's art works have been exhibited widely in locations ranging from the Governor of Georgia's Office to the University of Georgia Student Union in Athens, Georgia Southern University Museum, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Fort Smith Community Center in Arkansas, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Tyler School of Fine Arts at Temple University, Millersville University in Pennsylvania, York Junior College in York, Pa., Rose Hill Gallery in Aiken, S.C., to Purdue University in Indiana, Regensburg, Germany, and elsewhere.
    Among his outstanding awards is the Purchase Prize for the permanent collection, Purdue University; acceptance in Art USA, Madison Square Garden, NYC, selection for a one-man show, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Philadelphia, Pa.; First Award in Painting, Georgia Artists, The High Museum, Atlanta; and selected for numerous other juried and one-man shows.
    In addition to painting and printmaking. Dr. Olson's creative work is on every City of Statesboro vehicle. In 1981, he was commissioned to design the official logo for the City of Statesboro.
