The 2010 Main Street Farmers Market opened Saturday with a ton of local produce, bargains and a lot of fun.

  Debra Chester, marketing manager for the Main Street Farmers Market, said she thought more than 1,000 people came out for opening day.

  “With the weather, the vendors and the crowds, it’s hard to think how it could have gone any better,” Chester said.

  Many farmers sold out of their produce and Chester said as the growing season continues she expects even more farmers to come to the market.The market is open every Saturday through Nov. 20.
