Bulloch County sheriff's deputies say they are searching for a man who stabbed another male after they argued over a woman.

On Friday, patrol deputies responded to a home in the 3000 block of Roughrider Road for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a 54-year-old male victim with cuts and stabs to both of his arms.

The victim and other witnesses at the scene confirmed that the individual responsible for the stabbing was Gary Dale Joyner, 38, address unknown, a known acquaintance of the residents of the home, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Monday.

The assault stemmed from a dispute over the victim and Joyner being involved with the same female, Anderson said, adding that Joyner fled the scene on foot prior to deputies' arrival.

Joyner is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Warrants have been issued for Joyner charging him with aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and obstruction.

Anyone with information on Joyner's location should contact the sheriff's office at (912) 764-1771 or submit an anonymous tip to tips@bullochsheriff.com.
