Once again, the annual Dancing with the Statesboro Stars fundraiser for Safe Haven of Statesboro  packed the Georgia Southern University Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Oct. 1.
           Twelve teams — featuring one experienced dancer and one newbie apiece — performed a diverse range of dance routines. Red carpet interviews and ensemble dance numbers featuring all of this year’s contestants and past winners added new touches to the program.
           Each team’s fundraising efforts and the proceeds from the show have raised over $107,000 to help Safe Haven care for victims of domestic violence and their families, according to the Dancing with the Statesboro Stars Facebook page.
