Last week, investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch County Crime Suppression Team executed two search warrants at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation. The warrants resulted in five arrests and took quantities of crack cocaine, illegal prescription medications and more than 5 pounds of marijuana off the streets. Several firearms also were seized, including an AK-47 rifle.
The first search was conducted at 46 Butler St. in Statesboro after investigators learned that crack cocaine was being sold out of the residence.
During the search, investigators located a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and prescription medications. Dexter Raynard Hendrix, 39, of that address, was taken into custody and charged with sale of cocaine (three counts), possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce) and possession of a dangerous drug. Hendrix was transported to the Bulloch County Jail.
Also, last Thursday, investigators with the CST executed a search warrant at 23 Carter Drive. During that search, investigators located approximately 5 pounds of marijuana packaged for resale, two firearms — an AK-47 rifle and a .40 caliber handgun that had been reported stolen in a burglary in Bulloch County — and a large sum of U.S. currency.
Four individuals were placed under arrest and transported to the Bulloch County Jail for processing:
· Darryl Devon Williams, 29, of 23 Carter Drive, was charged with sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, theft by receiving stolen property (felony), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a drug-related object.
