Statesboro Police Incidents
SOLOMAN CIRCLE — A man said he received a FedEx package containing eight traveler's checks in the amount of $500 each. He later tried cashing them and the bank told him they were fictitious (counterfeit).
EAST GEORGIA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER — A complainant said someone broke into a car and took a firearm, a CD player, radar detector and pills of an unlisted nature.
L&D PRODUCE — A woman said she gave a man money to purchase car parts for her. The man lost the cash and refuses to pay her back.
FRENCH QUARTER CAFE — A woman said another female slapped her twice. The offender admitted doing so because the complainant was rude to her.
HARVEY'S/NORTHSIDE DRIVE WEST — A man left his silver 2003 Mitsubishi, minus a battery and other parts, for a lien holder to repossess. However, someone else took the car and both the complainant and the lien holder had no idea where it was. Later, police discovered the car had been towed by a local wrecker service.
NEIGHBOR'S EXXON — A woman said an unknown man grabbed her buttocks while she was in the store.
FAIR ROAD/BENNETT STREET — A man told police four or five unknown men stopped in a car, exited the car and knocked him down before kicking him in the head and back.
JOHN'S PLACE — A woman said an unknown man called her, expressing affection for her and telling her one of her in-laws died. The woman is not married and has no in-laws, according to the report.
PALMETTO COURT — A couple argued over money and a phone, with the fight escalating to the point police were called.
PAY LESS SHOES — Police responding to a call found a child asleep in a vehicle. They told the mother, who was inside the store, that child welfare authorities would be notified.
LANIER DRIVE/CAMBRIDGE — Two females and a male were cited for underage possession/consumption of alcohol.
Bulloch Sheriff's Incidents
B. L. KENDRICKS ROAD — (Brooklet) A woman said someone shattered glass on a door with a lawn chair. The offender had come to her house asking for her boyfriend, and when told he was not home, picked up a lawn chair and threw it at the door. The offender said he was going to confront the boyfriend about a vulgar message left on an answering machine, and "lost his cool" when he threw the chair.
TEAL CIRCLE — (Statesboro) A woman said she was at her boyfriend's home and he took her cell phone, refusing to give it back. He finally did so, but picked up a box cutter and when reaching for the phone again, cut her.
BIRD ROAD — (Statesboro) Deputies arrived in response to a call and found a man lying unconscious on the ground. He did not know where he lived except to say "Row 2" and did not know what had happened to him. He was transported to the hospital, and deputies did not discover the man's identity.
J. W. LANE ROAD — (Brooklet) A woman said her ex-husband began yelling at her and cursing in front of their grandchildren. The man denied doing so, but the woman took the grandchildren and left.
OLD RIVER ROAD SOUTH — (Brooklet) A man told deputies someone cleared some of his land without permission or his knowledge.
SAM TILLMAN ROAD — (Nevils) A man said someone removed a screen from his residence. Footprints and Bailey's cigarette butts were found in the area. The complainant, who does not smoke, said harassment of this type has occurred for months.
ALLEN CIRCLE — (Statesboro) A juvenile who was being unruly, disrespectful to her mother and threw a board, striking a one-year-old, was arrested and later taken to Claxton Regional Youth Detention Center.
COURTNEY WAY — (Statesboro) A woman said a man threw a plate of food through the back door during an argument.
ATWOOD ROAD — (Statesboro) A man said someone dumped piles of shingles on a piece of property he was hired to clean.
PIONEER TRAIL —(Portal) A woman told deputies she picked up her children from a man's home and the man threw a flip flop at a juvenile. The man admitted doing so but said he did it only to get the child's attention.
