Statesboro Police Incidents
WAL-MART — A female and a juvenile female left the store without paying for bathing suits, and were arrested.
BEST STREET — A woman notified police about a registered sex offender living within 1,000 feet of her business, a day care facility. She said the man walked past the day care frequently. Police identified the man and placed him under arrest for violation of the law prohibiting registered sex offenders from living within 1,000 feet of a school church or place where children gather.
PARK PLACE APARTMENTS — A complainant reported someone punctured several air conditioner units.
JOHNSON STREET — Police charged a juvenile with aggravated sexual battery and child molestation in an incident involving another juvenile, who was taken to the hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in the incident.
GATE/SOUTH MAIN STREET — Police arrested four women for disorderly conduct - three were occupants in a truck witnesses said was trying to run people over, and one was arrested for cursing in front of children.
FAMILY DOLLAR — Two women, one whom was charged with second offense theft by shoplifting, were arrested after taking $11 worth of consumables and other goods.
HOWARD JOHNSON'S — A man said someone took an envelope with $584 cash from the lobby.
MORRIS HEIGHTS — A woman said her boyfriend choked her and struck her, then threw her car keys in the woods.
EAGLE COURT — A woman said her children's father, whom she is no longer with, scratched her and grabbed her arm.
JONES MILL ROAD — A woman said she was trying to get her belongings from an apartment when a man with whom she had lived started arguing and moving her things around.
GARFIELD STREET — A woman said her juvenile grandchild took her vehicle to Morris Heights without permission, but an adult cousin retrieved the vehicle.
WEST MAIN STREET — A woman said a man threw his bicycle on her car hood and poked her in the eye with his finger, threatening to return and "mess her up."
