Note: The following is part of a series of articles looking at the establishment and evolution of the banking system in Georgia and Bulloch County. The Central Bank of Georgia was fully state-owned. Chartered in Milledgeville in 1828, its money consisted of assorted state funds and bonds that had been kept in the State Treasury.
