City funds second phase of pay-plan raises
Increase to affect about 90 percent of employees

Last week Statesboro City Council approved the second phase of city employee pay raises recommended in a pay study completed last March. The boost in pay affects about 90 percent of the city’s almost 300 employees. City officials estimated that the raises will cost about $65,000 for the remainder of this fiscal year’s budget, through June 30.
