Local Allstate agency owner Richard Rappa, with Franklin Insurance Group, received the Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to helping others and community service.
Because of Rappa's volunteerism, The Allstate Foundation awarded a $1,000 grant to CASA Ogeechee Judicial Circuit, where he volunteers.
Now in its 62nd year, The Allstate Foundation has given more than $300 million in financial contributions to communities around the country and in 2013, gave $126,000 in Georgia as part of the Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Program.
"The Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service and commitment to communities where we live, work and do business." said Bob Holden, Field Senior Vice President for Allstate's Southeast region. "With support from The Allstate Foundation, Richard makes our hometown a better place."
The Allstate Foundation awards $2 million every year to nonprofit organizations across the country. To be eligible for nomination, Allstate agency owners must volunteer, mentor, or lead a nonprofit of their choice.
Richard Rappa manages the Franklin Insurance Group in conjunction with the Franklin Motor Group in Statesboro, located at 733 Northside Drive E.
