Concerted Services Inc. announces that Walter Gibson has recently joined the Executive Board of Directors, as a representative of Bulloch County.
Gibson was born in Charlton County and graduated from Charlton County High School. After high school he went on to obtain an Associate Degree in Agriculture and Forestry from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in 1966. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and Forestry from the University of Georgia in 1968.
Gibson has 32 years of teaching experience and taught as an Agriculture Education instructor at Dawson County High School (1968-1970), Statesboro High School (1970-2000), and as a substitute since 2000.
He has been active on several boards and committees, including: Georgia Department of Education District II Agriculture Education Planning Committee, FAA Advisory Committee, GAVATA (GA Vocational Agriculture Teaching Association), GVA (GA Vocational Association), Coastal Regional Commission, CRC Aging Committee Services, and the State Building Authority Advisory Board.
Gibson became a Bulloch County Commissioner in 2000 and has continued to serve the citizens of Bulloch County since then.
He has been very active in the community by participating in various community oriented committees to include: Volunteer work with "A Day for Southern", City of Statesboro Tree Board, Bulloch County Retired Teachers, Statesboro Rotary Club, the Georgia Jaycees, Pitman Park United Methodist Church (PPUMC) Methodist Men, PPUMC Trustee Board, PPUMC Staff Parrish Committee, and the PPUMC Nominating Committee.
Gibson is married to Dale Bussell Gibson and they have two children and one grandchild.
