An upcoming certificate course offered by Georgia Southern University will review core employment knowledge needed by human resource personnel, office and division managers, and business owners.

“Essentials of Human Resource Management” will be offered at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah. The 15-hour workshop will run on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; on Friday, Oct. 26, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.; and on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Designed for hands-on practical learning, the course will combine case studies, in-class discussions and lecture to help participants develop solutions to the human resource issues they face daily.

The Savannah Area Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has generously provided underwriting to reduce the workshop fee. The course is provided in partnership with the national SHRM, which developed the materials.

The fee for the course is $315 per person, including materials, refreshments and lunch on Friday. The fee will be reduced to $255 per person for national and local members of the SHRM.
