Averitt Center season tickets for 201516 season go on sale Aug. 4

    The Averitt Center for the Arts is ushering in a new year with exciting performances by both professional artists and Averitt STARS community theater. From Aug. 4–15, patrons of the arts can purchase a new season ticket subscription to the Averitt Center for the Arts. Choose from smaller select packages of either professional shows or community theater, or pick them all in one big package. Individual tickets to all 2015-16 season shows will go on sale Aug. 18. 
    This year, the Averitt Center welcomes six mainstage professional performances: "That Georgia Rhythm" on Sept. 11, "The Nutcracker" ballet from Nov. 20–22, "Amahl and the Night Visitors" from
Dec. 10–12, "A Tale of Two Cities" on Feb. 12, "Dallas Brass" on March 4, and TUSK–Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show on March 26.
    The Averitt STARS Community Theater will present four additional productions: "The Boarding House Reach" from Sept. 25–27, "South Pacific" from Feb. 25–28, "Merry Wives of Windsor" from April 22–24, and "The Miracle Worker" from June 3–5.
    Special events this year include musicals "Calendar Girls" from Nov. 6–8, "Dream Girls" from Jan. 29–31 and "An Evening with Emma Kelly" from April 8–10; spoken word with Harry Hughes in "Speak Like Poe" on Oct. 3 and "Behold, Here Cometh the Dreamer" on Jan. 16; and, of course, the Emma Awards on June 11. Special events can be added on to any season subscription.
    By purchasing a season ticket package, patronsl save a minimum of 10 percent off the individual ticket price. Season ticket holders can reserve their favorite seat in the audience for every performance they attend — and, of course, they will be supporting the Averitt Center for the Arts so they can further their mission to provide quality arts opportunities for the community and to serve as a centerpiece for our vibrant, historic downtown.
    The Averitt Center offers four different season ticket packages. Package A, "The Total Package," will give you admission into six mainstage professional performances and four Averitt STARS performances. Package A is $178 for adults, $100 for youth and $200 for a box seat. Package B, "The Pro Package," will give you admission to six mainstage professional shows. Package B is $124 for adults, $60 for youth and $139 for a box seat. Package C, "The Home Package," will give you admission to four Averitt STARS performances. Package C is $55 for adults, $40 for youth and $62 for a box seat. Package D, "The Select Package," will give you admission to three mainstage professional shows. Package D is $72 for adults, $30 for youth and $80 for a box seat.
    Ticket prices are per person. Averitt Center members may use their "Box Office Bucks" towards the purchase of season ticket packages.
    When you purchase your season ticket package, you may add on tickets to any of the special events and or youth performances. Prices include a complimentary drink for all professional and Averitt STARS community theater performances on opening night. For the local productions (Averitt STARS Community Theater), all season ticket holders will be given a reserved seat on opening night of each show. However, you may trade in your reserved seat ticket for a general admission ticket to another performance of that show.
