The owner of two local laundromats is offering a hefty reward for information leading to the arrest of three men who broke into the businesses recently.
Statesboro Police Det. Keith Holloway is investigating an Aug. 3 burglary at The Wash House, located next to a convenience store at East Main Extension and Lester Road. The burglary, caught on video, involved two men who used a hand tool, possibly a hammer, to break into a change machine. They took an undisclosed amount of money, police reports stated.
Det. Ben Purvis is investigating a similar burglary at The Clean Getaway on Zetterower Avenue Aug. 4.
He said surveillance video shows three men entering the laundromat; they forced their way into an office, and then unsuccessfully tried to break into a coin machine.
The video shows one black male wearing a red tee shirt and lighter colored shorts, carrying a backpack over his shoulders; a black male wearing a white shirt with blue sleeves and darker colored long pants; and a black male in a dark shirt and lighter long pants.
Anyone with information is asked to contact either Purvis or Holloway at (912) 764-1542. Calls will remain confidential and a reward of $1,000 will be given to anyone providing information that leads to the arrests of the suspects, Purvis said.
