James Thompson Jr. and Joyce Miller Thompson of Portal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 20, 2014.

The Thompsons have two children and four grandchildren: a son, Terry Thompson of Vidalia, his wife, Tiffany Temples Thompson, and their two sons, Jacob and John Colby Thompson; and a daughter, Tonya Thompson Hagans, her husband, Tracy Hagans, and their two children, Trayson and Taelyn Hagans.

Both James and Joyce are retired and enjoy traveling and spending time with their grandchildren, family and friends. There will be a celebration held in their honor on Sunday, July 20, 2014, in the social hall of the Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church.
