Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robert Spivy II of Nevils, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Spivy of Nevils, to Nathaniel Carter Collins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Leon Collins.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Davis and Frances Spivy and the late Fred Robert Spivy. She is a 2005 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School in Brooklet and is a 2010 graduate of Georgia Southern, where she was a track and field athlete. Amanda is currently employed with Appleton Learning Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Elizabeth Carter and the late Howard Carter, Aileen Mobley, Irene Collins and Jimmy Collins. He is a 2005 graduate of Athens High School in Athens, Ala., and is currently employed with International Fire Protection as a special hazards inspector in Madison, Ala.
    The couple has planned to wed on November 3, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Snella's Place.
