Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Salter of Waynesboro, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Megan Salter of Waynesboro, Ga., to John Christopher Hurst of Midville, Ga., son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Hurst of Midville, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Regis Moore of Millen, Ga.; Clifford and Kathy Wise of Brooklet, Ga.; and Joyce Salter and the late Avery Salter of Waynesboro, Ga. Tara is a 2008 graduate of Edmund Burke Academy and is currently a student at Georgia Regents University, where she is studying early childhood education.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Roosevelt and Rosalind Oglesby Jr. and Hyland and Sara Hurst, all of Midville, Ga. He is a 2003 graduate of Edmund Burke Academy and a 2009 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in construction management. He is employed by Chicago Bridge & Iron.
    The couple has planned to wed on October 12, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the Botsford Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Ga.
