Mr. and Mrs. Randall Rutland and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sise of Macon, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Amanda Rutland, to Dustin Wesley Rushing, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Rushing of Statesboro, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rodderick and Sandra Herring and Bud and Louise Thomas. Katie will graduate with honors from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor's in Early Childhood Education this May.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Clark and Willie Claire Thompson and Walter and Lessie Rushing. Dustin graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2009 and now works for the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
    The couple has planned to wed on June 15, 2013, at
7 p.m. in Macon.
    They will reside in Statesboro.
