Whitney Nesmith and Shad Sirmans

    Mr. and Mrs. Billy Nesmith of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Nesmith of Statesboro, to Shad Sirmans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stevie Sirmans of Pearson, Georgia.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Morgan of Gray, Georgia, and Betty Nesmith and the late Lamar Nesmith of Statesboro, Ga. Whitney is a 2006 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. She received a degree in Cosmetology from Ogeechee Technical College in 2008. She is currently employed at the Merle Norman Hair Salon in Statesboro.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.D. White of Axson, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clemon Sirmans of Pearson, Ga. Shad attended Atkinson County High School. He attended South Georgia College, where he received an Associate's degree in Education. He received a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, Specialist's degree in Administration from Valdosta State University. He is currently employed at the Coffee County Board of Education.
    The couple plans to wed on June 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Atlanta LDS temple.
    There will be a ring ceremony at the home of the bride on June 18, 2011, at
7 p.m. for family and friends.
    The groom-elect's parents will host a reception for Whitney and Shad on June 25, 2011 at 7 p.m. in Pearson, Ga., at the LDS church.
