Mr. and Mrs. Walter Charles Gibson of Statesboro, Ga., are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Gina Lynn Gibson of Statesboro, Ga., to Jeffrey Howard Richardson of Statesboro, Ga., eldest son of Mrs. Carol Howard Ruffo of Statesboro, Ga., and Mr. Kelly Wade Richardson of Newnan, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Geneva Johnson Bussell and the late Mr. George Dennis Bussell of Tennille, Ga., as well as the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Charles Gibson of Folkston, Ga. Gina is a 2004 honor graduate of Statesboro High School and attended The University of Georgia, where she earned a BSEd in Exercise and Sports Science in 2008. While at Georgia, Gina was an active member and officer of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In 2011, Gina graduated with honors from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga., as a doctor of Physical Therapy. She is currently employed as an acute care physical therapist at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Jean Foss Howard and the late Mr. Jerry Wilson Howard of Statesboro as well as Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donald Richardson of Thomasville, Ga. Jeff is a 2004 graduate of Bulloch Academy in Statesboro and attended Georgia Southern University, where he earned a Bachelor of General Studies with emphasis in Management and Marketing in 2010. Jeff is currently employed by the City of Savannah in the Department of Revenue.
    The couple plans to wed on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Pittman Park United Methodist Church, with the reception to follow at The Belle House in Statesboro.
